Brent and I have become pretty good friends over the years, so I could have a long list of things, but he's, like the top of the list, he's a survivor, you know, in addition to having been an agency owner, an entrepreneur, a startup founder, successful. He's undergone some of his own challenges personally and come through those brilliantly.
Number two would be he's responsive. He's one of the most maybe organized communicators that I've met. If you email him regularly, you get a response immediately saying where he's going to be, not just that day, that week, but kind of for the rest of the year.
So he's very honest, but where he is, he always gets back. Number three would be he gives back a lot. So like the Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada, for instance, where I'm currently the treasurer, is the not-for-profit kind of organization involved.
He's been quite supportive and with that particular group, he's got a lot of young talent that he's brought into his organization that have then gone on to other roles or stay with the partnership group over time. So an agency owner that definitely gives back. So those would be three.
He's been a great friend to me as well, and that would be four, I guess. I've known Norm a long time and it's evolved in a whole bunch of different ways. This man knows more about sponsorship in Canada than anybody I know, and not just in Canada.
He's worked at two different leadership roles in two different U.S. universities and several Canadian universities, and as a result of that leadership-type role, he's incredibly knowledgeable. Norm's been a friend and a trusted individual for all of these years. Just to be able to pick up the phone and go for coffee or have a quick chat and ask for his insights, because as I said earlier, there's nobody more knowledgeable in the industry than him.
