The Ohio University College of Business recently welcomed Norm O’Reilly as professor and chair of the Department for Sports Administration, ranked the #1 Graduate Program in the world in 2012 and 2013 by SportBusiness International. O’Reilly, who holds MBA and Ph.D. degrees and the CGA accounting designation, is an accomplished scholar and business professional. He comes to OHIO from the University of Ottawa where he specialized in sport business and taught sport management, sport marketing and sport finance.
O’Reilly is one of the world’s leading scholars in sport business, having published five books and 70 manuscripts in peer-reviewed management journals. He is currently a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. As a senior advisor with TrojanOne, a Toronto-headquartered marketing agency, O’Reilly also works with corporations and properties on revenue generation and sponsorship.
As the new department chair, O’Reilly will take a leadership role in ensuring the continued success of OHIO’s college graduates by recruiting outstanding faculty, maintaining a professionally relevant curriculum and creating student opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in real-world situations.
