Nominations are open for this year’s “5 to Watch”. The annual awards show recognizes five sports business professionals who have achieved remarkable career success prior to their 40th birthdays. Nominations will remain open until March 5, 2015 and may be submitted at the event website – www.5towatch.ca
Any member of the public may submit a nomination for the awards although candidates may not nominate themselves. Candidates typically come from the following areas:
* Amateur & professional sports teams
* Equipment and apparel suppliers
* Governing sports bodies at the national and provincial level
* Non-editorial staff at media outlets
* Event/promotional/sports marketing agencies
* Academics focusing on the business of sport
* Advertisers, licensees, sponsors
* Event properties – in the sport, recreation or charitable sector
* Not-for-profit organizations or Foundations who partner with the sports business industry
Nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee of 40 senior members of the sports business community. The five winners will be celebrated at an awards show on Thursday, May 21 at the Waterfront Campus of George Brown College.
